he tapped the end of his pen against the polished counter top, stifling a yawn. not a single shape shifted out of place from the outside of the small floral shop, his emerald orbs practically begging for a slight trip in the line of people moving back and forth…back and forth. "tsk!" the irritable pitch struck angrily into the thick over hang of silence, Connor’s hands sifting through golden blonde locks in a hastened manner to clearly display his restless energy. “honestly! doesn’t anyone want to buy a god damn flower!?” business had been moving at a snail’s pace since the shop opened, a few customers dotting here and there, flitting in to purchase a bouquet for a lover or friend. he’d of course been upon his feet the moment these few individuals stepped inside, parading them about the area with a wide smile painted delicately over his thin lips. such things were necessary to sell your goods successfully. Connor idly flicked the ball point pen down the length of the counter, watching it tumble off with a soft clatter. the boredom that came with waiting for an inquiring customer was absolute agony! emerald eyes shifted back up to the wide clock face perched above the entry door, counting every ticking decent with a twisted tongue. this had been a repeated process for him, the only thing he could do to properly pass the time when there wasn’t a customer to be gushing over. it’s wasn’t that he disliked working for the owners of the small floral shop, he simply detested the waiting, which usually managed to set Connor into a foul mood. by now he’d completely spread his upper half over the entire counter top, wrists and hands dangling over the edge in a defeated manner. there had been many moments where Connor had debated stepping outside and physically pulling someone into the shop, but then again that would cause a problem for more than one person, not to mention he’d probably be charged with harassment. crossing the idea from a stored mental list, he lifted himself upright by pushing down with his palms, bangs curtaining his emerald eyes in a way that presented him as quite the intimidating character. he couldn’t take one more moment of this wasteful lounging! “bah! i’ll just get one of the newbies to fill my shift…i’m tired of this!” Connor kept one hand firmly placed upon the table top, gliding his fingers over the polished wood as he stepped round back to the staffing room. there weren’t many familiar faces, and only a few number of employees actually showed for work. sighing inwardly, he pressed a plastic smile over his lips to neatly display himself to the other’s, knowing that even without this they’d still be trembling in their loose skin. “you.” a finger was rudely pointed to the nearest individual (the latter stationed by the coffee dispenser), the young face melting into complete shock and discomfort. with barely contained delight, Connor’s grin widened and he jerked a thumb behind him, indicating the front counter. “i want you to man the outside. now.” the terrified soul was being ripped to shreds by a pair of piercing emerald depths, the younger boy only possessing the ability to nervously nod his head once, before ambling around Connor to station himself as a ridged human post at the front desk. laughing brightly, he waved his hand in a mocking gesture of gratitude. this was too easy. crossing over to one of the large lounging chairs, he dropped into the plush cushions to pull out his ipod from the back of his pocket. inserting the buds into his ear, Connor selected a song to which he placed on maximum volume. watching his shaking victim through narrowed eyes, he lifted a leg to place it over the other, making himself more adjusted, he waited in a more comfortable position for the entertainment that was sure to enter from the front entrance…any moment now. tags -- open!words -- 668 song -- mouthwash by kate nashoutfit -- CLICK ME!muse -- blarrr notes -- lol, what a bitch xD [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Diners. They were all the same. Come in, sit down, wait ten minutes to order your food, wait a half hour to get your food, and gobble it up with a distasteful face in less than fifty seconds. Why had Hakushi wandered into this germ-infested, child-ridden grease pan? Simple: the wait at his favorite- and expensive- French restaurant was far too long, and he had neglected to make a reservation.
He sat silently, still as stone, and waited for his overweight weightress to make an appearance with his check. If it is not in front of me in the next ten seconds, I am going to walk out without paying anything! he thought, a gruesome scowl playing across his features. He saw the waitress out of the corner of his eye as she took a deep breath and slowly approached the demon. "Here," the lady huffed, tossing the bill onto the stained, plexiglass table. Without a word, Haku found a ten dollar bill, knowing it would cover everything and serve as a tip, and placed it on the table. The blond man rose slowly, the clientell of the diner shifting uncomfortably in their seats. The door squeaked on his way out, and it seemed like a weight had been lifted from the diner.
Hakushi sighed, pocketing both his hands and striding down the sidewalk. He was just in this part of town the other day... why was he here again? Oh, right. Kae had loved the new flower the demon created, and he asked for another. When it came to such things, Haku's memory was not the best, so he decided to take another trip to the flower shop. It was only a few blocks down from the diner, and it seemed that the whole street was desolate. "Hmm...".
The tiny bell rang from the contact with the door, signaling Hakushi's entrance. Unlike last time, there was someone situated at the front register, and through a door behind the young man sat all of the other employees, having a nice chat and drinking coffee. Doesn't anyone do their job around here?! Sky blues danced around the store, figuring out his next move. He had visited the year-round section of florals, so why not investigate the seasonal perennials?
Heavy steps were taken to the opposite side of the store, eyes searching for only the best-looking flowers. A hand was removed from his pocket to allow slender fingers to brush over the petals of each flower, gettin a feel for each unique texture and design. His other hand fingered the box of sticks he kept in his pocket at all times, wishing he could just remove it and test a few ideas out. SPEAKING OTHERS SPEAKING

the store bell rang in it’s annoying and cheerful fashion, Connor’s lips twisting into a disgusted snarl as one of his ear buds had managed to slip free, dropping down with a sound plunk upon his lap. growling in a grudging tone, he hooked a finger underneath the wire to simply pop the item back into his ear when he noticed a figure slipping into the shop, his temporary guard shrinking under such an imposing presence. oh ho! recognizing the familiar fair hair and sky blue tones, Connor removed his ear phones and wrapped them around his ipod, pocketing it for later as he pushed away from the cushioned lounging chair. stepping out into the store’s main room, he trotted daintily over to the employee he had positioned at the register. “beat it!”
a large smile upon the lips and a simple dismissive hand waved the other back into the break room –no doubt looking quite relieved. steadily curving his fingers into a laced position behind his back, Connor ventured down the shelves of flower pots, his emerald optics glancing in-between spaces to properly gain a better look at Hakushi. he remembered their encounter only a few weeks prior, Connor having him aid in clearing up a few spilt storage boxes. he wore the same blank expression as before, Hakushi focused on an array of potted flowers situated upon a lower shelf. “hey patchy, can i help you with something?” referring to one of the covers he wore over his eye, Connor took a step back from violently tapping Hakushi in the ribs, a wide grin cracking across his lips. “i didn’t think you’d come back after i made you clean up all those boxes with me.” jerks thumb toward the storage room, a new “employees only” hanging from a protruding nail. he’d forgotten to retrieve the damn thing after slapping it half way across the room, ultimately stepping on the sign and breaking it. as long as it didn’t come out of his pay check he’d be fine with staring at the overly coloured version, the store from across the street having the ability to see it. of course that was a slight stretch on the truth. Connor clapped his hands in order to bring himself back to attention, leaning down to inspect the flowers Hakushi was gazing at. “violets? do you like them? i personally think you could do better.” he placed both hands upon his hips, laughing brightly into the quiet surrounding area. without even gathering at a sense for permission, Connor stretched out hand and hooked it underneath Hakushi’s arm, dragging him down a few isles. “listen! we just got a fresh batch of forget-me-nots and blue bells. i think you’ll fancy those a bit better. besides, those violets are bound to die out within a few short days.” pausing by the correct shelf, Connor released Hakushi’s arm and pointed to the potted flowers he had mentioned earlier. “there! now make sure you actually buy something this time!” he patted Hakushi’s back, subtly pushing him toward the forget-me-nots and blue bells, lips grinning widely.
