The vibrations filled the old demon's pocket, spiking his attention and calling out for him to answer. There was no doubt about it; it was another text from Shion. The backlight of the LCD screen lit up the darkness of the rooftop Syn was poised atop of, the sun having set merely minutes ago. Gazing through bloodshot eyes, the man read the 57th text he'd received from his partner that week- and it was only Tuesday! "I need to see you. Meet me at the apartment." was all it read. Each time Syn had received one of these messages from the boy, he had rushed to meet him, only to be shooed away for no apparent reason. Even though Shion kept insisting on pushing the demon away, he wasn't going to give up. He groaned slightly, having gone weeks with little to no sleep, and stood up. He'd been on the run from the slave traders once more, Hugo finding his location and preventing him from returning to his mansion. It wouldn't surprise me if the fucker was burned down by now... he thought to himself as he took the 4 flights of stairs down to ground level. He could've just as easily hopped straight down into the street, but he figured that the exercise would help wake him up enough to be presentable to Shion- and perhaps stay up the rest of the night if it was required.
The walk to the apartment was convenient, Syn's demonic speed shaving off about 5 minutes of the distance. He debated whether he should text the boy back, and decided against it; it would be nice to surprise his mate once in a while... even though Shion hated surprise visits. It was the worst having to meet him in public, and knowing that their relationship could be no more than business. And, of course, this was the time Shion would be the most irresistable- what with his police uniform, tossled hair, and serious face, absolutely everything Syn admired about the young man. A slight tingle arose in the demon's body just thinking about it, and he quickened his steps only slightly.
Finally reaching the darkened apartment complex, he smirked and stepped up to the side of the building. Eying the window he had traveled in and out of many times, he bent over, black wings ripping out of his spine and flapping once. The strength of the flap was enough to eject the demon and carry him up to the fire escape outside Shion's living room, the curtains open on the other side of the sliding glass door, signaling it was appropriate for Syn to enter. With quick and silent speed, the dark haired man opened the door, slipped through, and closed it behind him. Ruby orbs scanned the darkness in the search for his lover, his excitement growing with each progressing second. "Oh Loverboy~?" birds black of the clear sky TOUCH YOUR FEATHERS TO MY FACE TAGGED: Shion <3 NOTES: haha... he thinks hes gonna get lucky xD *crosses fingers* WORD COUNT: tltc TEMPLATE BY AEON OF OTE |

recently, Shion had been creating quite the number of noises during the day and night, crashing pans or chairs against the walls of his kitchen and bedroom. he felt this unknown frustration pent up within him, coming to aggravate him more each day as he could never pin point the problem. and without that, there was no solution. so, Shion felt the need to create stress for other people, and in return it became a larger irritation for him when the latter started filing complaints. he’d even been threatened to lose his placement, though a few minutes later Shion had quickly made it known to his land lord that there wasn’t any way in hell he’d become a homeless bum on the streets. however, to quiet the complainers, he ceased with the disturbing noises and instead resorted to a more silent venting. there were times where Shion took it out on Syn, often chasing him out of his apartment or office with his tonfas or a steel filing cabinet. it wasn’t just the rather large and obvious remarks Syn would often crack around him that pushed Shion into such a state, it was also the smaller less noticeable ones that bothered him as well.
to put it straight, he was a wrecked pile of seething rage that lasted round the clock.
the awful mood swings had started after the first unsuccessful day of relocating his work partner Daichi, Shion’s waking and sleeping hours merging together that he was having attacks more often than before. he’d spent hours on his bike, riding through internal hills in the hops of tracking down a possible location, quite possibly finding someone who had noticed unusual activity. if Shion wasn’t out and moving, he was closed off in his office working through papers and folders of criminals that would have the motivation to kidnap Daichi. so far, he’d found nothing useful, and that’s what was ultimately driving him into madness.
angrily stomping over to his couch, Shion dropped down onto his knees and heatedly stuck his arm underneath, searching for the damned piece of technology. he ran his fingers over the dust covered surface, snarling in frustration after a mere twenty seconds of an unsuccessful find. when his fingers managed to run over a bump in the ground, Shion immediately cried out in shock, snapping his hand back to pull out a curved switch blade. the flat base of his thumb began to bloom dark red, his blood running thickly down his wrist and arm to splash onto the floor. it was strange, but following the steady spatter of his blood were tears, Shion’s brows furrowed as he stared in defeat at Seven’s knife. “what…the hell is this…doing here?” his voice was unsteady and slightly cracked, the weight of weeks stress finally crashing down upon him, the fine string finally running thin and breaking completely.
he didn’t normally cry, hadn’t even when he was a child. so Shion attempted to keep his voice as quiet as possible when he leaned forward and curled his knees into his chest, forehead resting on the floor boards. still holding onto Seven’s knife, Shion barely heard the smooth glass of his balcony window sliding back, Syn stepping in to call out the familiar nickname that he so detested.
